Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw

Problem

Adobe has shutdown the update servers for CS6. This means that someone installing CS6 can no longer update to get the latest Camera RAW engine that CS6 supports, which in turn greatly limits the RAW images that can processed with Photoshop.

Solution

There are three options.

  1. Manually download and install the latest Camera Raw supported by CS6
  2. Use a create cloud account to install the cloud version of CS6.
  3. Upgrade to full Photoshop CC


Photoshop Create Cloud does not, in spite of the name, automatically store all photos in the cloud.
