Nikon Camera Settings (Basic Setup)

Using the Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software, the images should be saved as RAW, not TIF.

The bit depth should be set to 14-bit versus 12-bit. (More on this issue later.)

The Auto Focus function must be enabled on the lens barrel (changing the switch to MA not M) as well as on the face of the camera (from M to S).

Install the Nikon Viewing software (NXView2) on the camera workstations

Install the Nikon Codec on all workstations
