Generative AI in Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop 2024 has generative AI features including: Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and the new Remove Tool. This article covers how to hide these features, how to ensure you can prove they were not used, and how to prevent Adobe from using your data to train their systems.
Overview
The most important thing to know about these generative AI tools is that if you don’t intentionally use them they will not be invoked or used on your image in any way.
Hide Features
Open Photoshop 2024 and open an existing image file
Below the image you will see this tool bar:
Click the three dots
Click Hide Bar
Prove they are not Used
Make sure the History Log is enabled so that you can show what was and what was not done to an image.
This is done automatically for you by Foray ADAMS® when using ADAMS Bridge.
Open Photoshop
Edit → Preferences → History & Content Credentials
History Log - should be checked
Save Log Items To - set to Metadata
OK
This logs all changes made to an image.
Protect your Data
Disable content analysis.
Open Photoshop
Help → Manage My Account
Edit profile (under your name on the right hand side)
Data and privacy settings
Under Content analysis turn off “Allow my content to be analyzed…”
