Crystal Reports Can't Create Connection to Database

Crystal Reports Can't Create Connection to Database

Problem

In the Crystal Reports Database Expert the Foray database is not found under Create New Connection

Solution

Create an ODBC x32 Data Source

  1. Windows Start Menu, open ODBC Data Sourcse (32-bit)

  2. Click System DSN

  3. Click Add…

  4. Select the driver for your database. PostgreSQL Unicode or ODBC Driver XX for SQL Server

  5. Click Finish

  6. Enter a name for the data source, the database name (ex: ForayAdams), the server FQDN, username and password.

  7. Test

  8. Save

If the driver for your database doesn’t appear run the installer from the Foray ADAMS prerequisites folder. Crystal’s designer is a 32 application and therefore needs a 32 bit driver such as psqlodbc_x86.msi
