Can't run dowloaded exe on server

Problem

On Windows Server 2003, applications installed run fine but newly downloaded EXEs or ones copied to the server do not.

Solution


Part 1
  1. Add/Remove Programs
  2. Add/Remove Windows Components
  3. Uncheck "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration"
Part 2
  1. Internet Explorer
  2. Tools->Internet Options->Security
  3. Trusted Sites
  4. Uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
  5. Add: http://localhost
  6. Add: localhost
