PostgreSQL Timeout
Problem
Adams applications report an error with the following message:
Server did not respond within the specified timeout interval.
Verbose logging in the Adams application and in the database reveals that a query is sent to the database but never returns.
The error is not linked to a specific query or type of query. Nor is it linked to load on the database server.
Solution
VMware tools had a known bug in 10.0.0.6 that an issue with the vShield driver that enables host based virus scanning.
Upgrade to version 10.0.0.8 resolves the issue.
