Problem

The AdamsWeb 5.1 login page displays the message "Browser is in Compatibility Mode which is not supported by AdamsWeb." even though compatibility mode is off and the browser version is Internet Explorer (IE) 9 or later. In addition, the login page is not styled as expected and the login input boxes are visible (see attachment).

The issue is that the login page scripts were not able to load because of a known issue with Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.

Solution

Download and install the Microsoft Windows 2008 update KB980368 on the IIS 7 server and then restart the server.
