Machine Can Join the Domain but User Can't Login
Problem
If you have a machine that can join the domain (a Fedora Directory Server domain) but the user can not login then you need to remove the following line from the smb.conf:
Solution
restrict_anonymous = 2
If this is occurring with an AD domain then try changing the following entry in the registry from 1 to 0:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA\RestrictAnonymous
