File Based Activation

This guide will walk you through performing a file based activation. This can be used when internet access is not available.

Download FLEXnet Activation

To perform file based activation you will need the FLEXnet Activation tool.

  1. Download FLEXnetActivation.zip

  2. Extract the Zip

  3. Run FLEXnetActivation.exe

Prepare for Activation

Before you can activate the FLEXnet Activation tool needs to be setup.

  1. Activation Server - http://activate.foray.com/flexnet/services/ActivationService (select from drop-down)

  2. Activation ID - ENTER THE ACTIVATION ID FOR THE PRODUCT YOU WISH TO ACTIVATE

  3. Click “Set Values”

If you close FLEXnet Activation you will need to perform the above steps next time (and every time) you open it.

Generate Activation Request

File based activation is a two step process. First you generate a request then you process a response.

  1. Under “File-based Processing” click “Generate…”

  2. Choose a location to save the file and enter a file name. Ex: Chromatic Filter Activation.req

  3. Send the file to support@foray.com and request an activation response.

 

If you are sending in activation requests for multiple products and/or multiple machines at the same time make sure that each req file has identifying information. Ex: Chromatic Filter Workstation1234 Activation.req

To generate a request for a different product enter the Activation ID of the new product and click Set Values again.

Process Activation Response

Foray Support will send back a response file.

  1. Under “File-based Processing” click “Process…”

  2. Select the responseXML.xml file returned by Foray Support

  3. Click View

  4. You should see your activated license
